WCBR’s Top Picks

Ray’s Top Picks

Best of the Past Week: Green Lantern #43 – A disturbing read that I will surely revisit over and over.

Most Anticipated for this Week: Blackest Night #1 – The dead finally rise! What more can you want?

Other Top Picks: Action Comics #879, Blackest Night Tales of The Corps #1, Wednesday Comics #2, Young Liars #17, All Select Comics #1, Captain America #601, Dark Avengers #7, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep #1, Poe #1

Kyle’s Top Picks

Best of the Past Week: Wednesday Comics #1 – Wednesday Comics impressed the hell out of me.  The format is definitely risky, but it sure as hell delivers a lot of bang per buck.  Be sure to give Wednesday Comics a chance if you’re on the fence about it.  It deserves to find an audience.

Most Anticipated for this Week: The Walking Dead #63/ Wednesday Comics #2 – I can’t wait to see what happens now that the hunters have been introduced into Kirkman’s story.  As for Wednesday Comics #2?  It’s more of a good thing so of course I can’t wait for it.

Other Top Picks for this Week: Dead @ 17 Afterbirth #2,  Dark Avengers #7, Incognito #5, Lockjaw & The Pet avengers #3, Deadpool #12, Gemini #4, Amazing  Spider-Man #599, Agents of Atlas #8, Blackest Night #1

Rob’s Top Picks

Best of the Past Week: DC Wednesday Comics #1- This project is a true comic experience. You’re not just reading the same old format, but something new that brings new associations and enjoyment to the table. Plus, the talent is top notch.

Most Anticipated for this Week: Buck Rogers #2 /DC Wednesday Comics #2- Both of these titles edge out Blackest Night #1 as they are proven commodities. Buck Rogers was off to a fantastic start last month and looks to continue the momentum with its superb Sci-Fi and fun atmosphere.

Other Top Picks for this Week: Amazing Spider-Man #599, Beta Ray Bill Godhunter #2, Blackest Night #1, Blackest Night Tales of the Corps #1, Captain America #601, Dark Avengers #7, Incognito #5, Unknown #3, Walking Dead #63

Alex’s Top Picks

Best Of The PastWeek: Green Lantern #43 – After the underwhelming Agent Orange arc, Johns returns in style to remind us what he’s capable of, delivering a sickening character study.  Indeed, at times this felt more like an indie title, let alone the prologue to a mainstream as mainstream can be DC event.  Oh, and no more Philip Tan!

Most Anticipated: The Walking Dead #63 – With Bill being taken last issue by the hunters, I just need to know what’ll happen to everyone’s favourite grumpy, old, one-legged man.  Will he lose his trademark boonie hat?  Say it ain’t so, Kirkman!

Other Top Picks for this Week: Agents of Atlas #8, Dark Avengers #7, Blackest Night #1, Captain America #601, DMZ #43, Fables #86, Incognito #5

DS’s Top Picks

Best of the Past Week: Batman #688 – Winick told a great character story and I loved seeing Dick’s strategy for charming Gotham to the new Batman.

Most Anticipated for this Week: Blackest Night #1 – After all the build up and especially Green Lantern #43, what else could I be waiting for?

Other Top Picks: Action Comics #879, Blackest Night: Tales of the Green Lantern Corps #1 , Titans #15, Agents of Atlas #8
